How are you? I'm glad you stopped by my website. I picked up this passenger the other night and he makes web pages, so I cut him a break on the fare and he gave me some great pointers on how to build a website. This is my first try, but I think it looks pretty good and you can find all kinds of good web stuff here like my videos and my blog and games and contests and stuff about donkeys and stuff about me and stuff about getting home safely. And that's what Donnie's Donkeys is all about, helping people get home safely. My donkeys also hope you like this site. They helped out a lot.
I wanted this page to be the most fun place on the whole Internet so I put in a video game that you can play and maybe win one of my Donnie's Donkeys t-shirts. They're really cool and if you win one and then you wear it, people will go where did you get that and you can tell them. There's also a contest to win a really cool ultimate ride home. As far as I can tell that makes this webpage is the best page anywhere.

So me and my donkeys are really into helping people get home safely. Maybe you've seen my TV commercials. They're here along with some other videos we made and even some other donkey stuff that we just found lying around the Internet. You should watch them and then if you see me and my donkeys around town you'll understand exactly what we're doing.

Sometimes in between shifts I come back here and check my emails to see if anyone has said hello or asked me for a ride. If you want to say hello or ask me for a ride, here's your chance. I'll answer as many as I can. Also if you have any questions for my donkeys this would also be a good place to ask them something. You can also track me down on Facebook. Add me as a friend.

Do you like helping people get home safely? Do you currently own a donkey or would you be willing to rent or lease one? If you answered yes to those questions, maybe you could open a Donnie's Donkeys in your neighborhood. Your name doesn't have to be Donnie though, you could have a Carl's Donkeys or a Bill's Donkeys or a Mary's Donkeys. Maybe just send me a note about why you want to run a donkey business, and what your donkey's name is (or what it would be if you rented or leased one). And maybe even you could write a poem about donkeys. That would be cool. I'll put the best stuff up here on my website.
Donnie Dixon was born at home, in the living room of the Dixon family farmhouse on December 2, 1970. He is the youngest of nine boys. Most farm families have pets like cats, dogs or the occasional chicken, but the Dixons have donkeys. Donnie's dad had a donkey, Juan Rafael. Donnie's granddad had a donkey, Juan Chi-Chi. And when Donnie turned five, he got a donkey that he named Juan Carlos.
Donnie grew up happy and by all accounts normal, except for one special skill. He could talk to the donkeys. The Dixons treated all their donkeys like family and talked to them like anyone would talk to a family pet. But Donnie was the only one that could hear them talk back. Donnie also had the Dixon family record for the number of times kicked in the head by a donkey.
Donnie had a lot of friends if you count the donkeys. It's not that he didn't get along with people; it's just that donkeys make for better conversation. While his brothers grew up and left the farm for other careers, Donnie and Juan Carlos stayed close to home. The farm fell on hard times and in 2005 Donnie's mother and father, along with his donkey Juan Rafael, moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta for greener pastures.
Donnie resisted the move to Alberta, mostly because he couldn't choose between cheering for the Oilers or the Flames. He turned to Juan Carlos for advice and after a spirited discussion about the strengths of both hockey teams, Juan Carlos changed the subject and revealed a secret desire to help people get home safely. The next day, Donnie and Juan Carlos moved to the city in search of people to help.
Donnie and Juan Carlos quickly discovered that city living is expensive, so they split the rent on a one bedroom in the North E. While cohabitating they also discovered new delights like donairs, dill pickle chips and cable television. Juan Carlos likes to watch Dynasty reruns while Donnie prefers old movies and acting out scenes with Juan Carlos, who does a mean Kim Basinger impression.
Business is a bit slow currently. People aren't used to seeing a donkey in the city, and Juan Carlos hasn't quite mastered walking on asphalt yet. "But with every safe ride home, they gain a customer for life," says Juan Carlos. Donnie dreams of adding another donkey as business grows, providing he can find a two bedroom they can afford. Juan Carlos is also encouraging Donnie to get out and start interacting with more people. He recently signed Donnie up for a speed dating event and they're currently working on a MySpace page.
